Founded in 2018 as a UX/UI design studio, we quickly expanded our capabilities by establishing our development department alongside our collaboration with UNHCR. In 2021, we took our global vision further by founding Studio MAWA GmbH in Berlin, strengthening our presence in both Istanbul and Berlin.

Today, we are a full-service digital partner, delivering tailored solutions that merge design excellence with cutting-edge technology. About the Co-founders

Bige Ergez

Bige loves the journey, from beginning to end, and her nomadic spirit has found a home in the digital world. As a digitalization expert with 16 years of experience in content strategy and advertising, she has managed numerous projects, products, teams and businesses.

Her professional path has given her valuable insight and a holistic understanding of how to link real world needs with digital solutions. Being a tech co-founder with an enthusiastic nature, she thrives on working with innovation by deep-diving into products to come up with sophisticated solutions that capture her clients’ needs.

Bige’s healthcare startup CoreSleep was accelerated in the Hardtech Innovation Program at MotionLab Berlin.

When she’s offline, you can find her surfing or planting seeds at the regenerative living project Traditional Dream Factory (TDF) in Portugal, where she’s also a co-creating member.

Hande Turkmen

Hande is a creative soul with a passion for design, technology, and music. With 12 years of experience in UX/UI and Communication Design, she started the journey of MAWA in 2018 in Istanbul. Studio MAWA Berlin was born alongside Berlin-based Bige Ergez in 2021.

As a designer, Hande brings a unique perspective to every project she works on. Her creativity and technical expertise provide her with a deep understanding of digital products and how well-thought-out design can impact user experiences.

When she’s not designing digital experiences for her clients, you can find Hande on the turntable creating memorable experiences as a DJ around Europe.
